Palestine
Helal Salahuddin
You,
A shrouded effigy for a long
Though the bayonet relishes at your flesh
Leaving no inch untouched of the skin.
The men who pledged to lay for you
-The pauper chauvinist- burns you down
The huntsmen are on the stage, hurling slurs.
The bigotry spears pinch your heart
Dissect you as head and tail,
The clerks at the dogmatist school
-How pitiful the sight of asylum
A baby in the custody of step-mother-
Rejects you have a space in the atlas
It rings your pulse flickering, whispering.
The sermon is preached, the jury is pledged
To vilify as if you were never, nowhere.
The flowing history brings the crimson chunks forth,
Zillions of fabled wars, clarion calls
Vanish like a piece of camphor
All you lose at their feet of history.
Only the rallies of bones remain, you Palestine!
A shrouded effigy for a long
Though the bayonet relishes at your flesh
Leaving no inch untouched of the skin.
The men who pledged to lay for you
-The pauper chauvinist- burns you down
The huntsmen are on the stage, hurling slurs.
The bigotry spears pinch your heart
Dissect you as head and tail,
The clerks at the dogmatist school
-How pitiful the sight of asylum
A baby in the custody of step-mother-
Rejects you have a space in the atlas
It rings your pulse flickering, whispering.
The sermon is preached, the jury is pledged
To vilify as if you were never, nowhere.
The flowing history brings the crimson chunks forth,
Zillions of fabled wars, clarion calls
Vanish like a piece of camphor
All you lose at their feet of history.
Only the rallies of bones remain, you Palestine!
